My new tv has 1 set of component inputs, 1 x s-vid etc etc. My dvd runs to the component at the moment. My xbox runs through the s-vid.

When i buy a SD dgtec STB i am told that it also need to run it through component. Yeah, OKAY? But will someone tell me where is my dvd output going to go?!?!

Do i have to buy a component box splitter and switch to the tv, dvd or xbox when i want to watch each?

Please tell me there is an easier and not too expensive option where my wife doesn't have to turn a switch depending on if it's the tv, dvd or video she wants to watch?

Will my PIP also stop working if i go the switch route?

It truly does stun me that it's not simpler and if this is the way it is, i see this as a real stumbling block to the uptake of digital tv. Will someone please tell me i am wrong.

Using component connection for digital TV is only essential for viewing the high definition signal from HD STB. As your running a SD STB, you can get away with S-video or composite if you are not fussed about not having the absolute best quality FTA picture.

Dont worry, soon they'll have a new stu just for this sort of thing.
Only another $300 or so and you'll be so happy you might just burst! :)
