Copying files from Strong 5290 to PC

This may have already been asked....apologies in advance.

Can you copy the media files from the Strong 5290? I'm assuming they are
MPEG2 standard.

Do you need to remove the hard drive and add as additional drive to your PC?

If anyone has had success or knows what to do, I'm all ears.

Yes but its not easy. Requires disk-editor, converting proprietary format,
hexadecimal maths etc.
