DTV STB Recomended

GDay Everyone,
I'm al very new to this DigitalTV thing. I am
interested in getting into this a little and turn to you guys for a little
advice. I have a Sony KV-ES29 Television and am interested in maybe getting
a HD-STB for it. Will this really just be a waste of money for this
particular TV or will I get some benefit from it. Further to that, there are
many models and brands around, has anyone got any good recommendations or
may be able to point me to a web site that has a comparison so I can make
the choice myself. I am interested I the surround sound as well that I
believe that I can get with digital TV. Are firmware updates important and
are included with most hardware manufactures ? Ok Thanks,
