G'day,
Just joined the 21st century and had an antenna installed.
Now, when I hit the automatic tuner on my TV, it stops at 13 different
frequencies rather than 4.
What channel is broadcast on 260 MHz and what is on 625 MHz ?
Is there a list available online somewhere ?
So far I've determined the following MHz's for my TV setup:
064 - ABC
182 - Seven
196 - Nine
209 - Ten
260 - ??????
527 - SBS
548 - Ch 31
562 - Prime
576 - WIN
583 - Ten SC ?
625 - ??????
597 - Foxtel through the Video
765 - Foxtel through the TV

Nothing.

Well you have failed to take into account the digital channels.

The reason the tuner stopped at 260 and 625 might be a digital channel's
carrier.

Or it might be a repeater or another channel.

eg 625 might be a repeater ,maybe channel 9 can afford repeaters.

260 might be a distance channel - or the digital copy of SBS.

You didnt even say where you live.

I guess you are in a capital city.

Nothing from a TV transmitter tehre. Its between the VHF and UHF
channels.

and what is on 625 MHz ?

Dunno, but its in the frequency range for UHF 42.

> Is there a list available online somewhere ?

Grab yourself a Dick Smith catalogue. Its in the data at the back.
Also try http://www.aca.gov.au.

Your tuner could also be finding FM radio stations, various UHF and
VHF commercial traffic and also strong signals that are mixing with IF
frequencies just to confuse you.

Hey Les,
If you live in a capital city you may be receiving an amateur (ham radio)
broadcast, they're allocated a UHF frequency for authorised transmissions.
Their broadcasts are of course irregular, but if you're in the right
place at the right time you can get them.

The other frequency could be a repeater broadcast of the Townsville
Truman Show.
I get that one all the time.

Cheers,
Matt.

Yo Molly,

Seeing as I'm picking up a dozen or so TV stations compared to the one
channel that the Cook Islands has on offer, I reckon I must be back in
Australia for a while. (Or have a big antenna).

BTW, Cook Islands TV has expanded dramatically. It's now on for 17 hours per
day ! Woo hoo.
Even more religious shows and taped ABC Australia documentaries. Thank
Christ they sell Aussie beer over there.

Anyhow, gotta go and watch Channel Truman on 260.25 Mhz to see what |-|erc
is getting up to.

Yep, 576-585mHz.

Usually at night, more probable on weekends. Power is very low
compared to "real" television, no more than 400 Watts compared to the
big boys with several kilowatts and high gain antenna arrays.

YOUR MUVVER!

Dear Les - Yer Boof!

Quick quiz;

Joyce Meyer, Benny Hinn, or (my personal fave) Randy Morrison? (Just
testin'.)

Anyway, Les take the hint. When a country must repeatedly deport you
for too much beer swilling, stay away! Besides, ain't Sunshine exotic
'enuff for yer? Go hang out at the Harvester site if you are really
bored!

Oh and....stop bragging about your antenna. You're making all the boys
here jealous!

I'm at a loss here.
Google doesn't have a Country to City language translation service.
Like your previous posts, I've got NFI what your on about.
You been sneaking into the homebrew cupboard again ?
Or did you slip on some spilled beer at the last Barn dance ?
If you wanna coddle big Les, ya gotta lift ya game woman.
Anyhow, I thought coddling was boiling eggs or something.
You trying to poach me ?
Oh well, I better get some eggs out and start coddle training in case you
invite me to your next Barn dance.

Well, Boof-Les the first important step is admitting you have a problem. If
I talked Aussie soap starlets, would that be easier?
Trouble is, my knowledge of that topic stops way back at 'The Restless Years
'.

> Google doesn't have a Country to City language translation service.
This is where my scholarly approach to regional linguistics comes in handy.
Thanks to my years of studying the natives I have some grasp of your big
city talk.> Like your previous posts, I've got NFI what your on about.

Oh dear! "NFI" says he who talks of cards, laps, utes, games, spankings, and
playing.

> You been sneaking into the homebrew cupboard again ?

Only brew 'round here is Bushells. Would I impress if I told yer I was
making sly-grog out in the back shed?

> Or did you slip on some spilled beer at the last Barn dance ?

I gave up the goin' to dances at the end of the blue light disco era (circa
1980).

> If you wanna coddle big Les, ya gotta lift ya game woman.

Just what is your game, Les? When yer gonna let me in on the rules? It's a
few years, that you've been telling me to "lift" my game.
Although, it is years since I played, I am interested in one of those
'Simpsons' themed Monopoly boards.
Previously you told me to "play my cards right" are you thinkin' along the
lines of Snap, Uno or maybe Fish?

> Anyhow, I thought coddling was boiling eggs or something.

The only food involved with a coddling, coddle job, or full-coddle should be
chocolate or cinnamon-related. Obviously not your sorta thing.
That's okay.

> You trying to poach me ?

Am I fishing your waters illegally?? Are you yoking me?

> Oh well, I better get some eggs out and start coddle training in case you

You're getting mixed up with the Tit Pullers Hoot'n'Nanny - events usually
attended by RM Williams wearing city boys, who
drive up in their beer-filled utes.

> invite me to your next Barn dance.

Hmmm.you gotta good rhythm going there! Too bad we can't quite manage to
speak the same language! Well, I gave it a try.

Sorry Les:

Didn't mean to take up valuable newsgroup space that may have been put
to better use by your many admirers and stalkers.

Word is the next Hoot'n'Nanny is to be held during the same week as
the Cook Islands Home Brewer's Annual Froth Up, so you are bound to be
obligated to attend the latter. Farm Boy Trev says he'll reserve some
tickets for you and your harem in case you decide to show. Trev says
he will recognize you by your boof head, the size of your beer gut and
the softness of your city boy hands.

Poker is your game? I would have thought Fosters Flop would make that
near impossible.

You should try to remember, a woman is only as old as the man she is
Coddling!

"Try harder" you say, but we all know no one likes a try hard. I shall
leave you to enjoy the attention of your stalkers.

MC
