I offered this item on the group a week ago but no one got back to me about
actually buying it. Maybe that was because I couldn't decide on a price.
Well if you want it, you decide the price now!

I also have a Canon S9000 inkjet photo printer for sale. Not on EBay yet but
if there's no one interested I'll sure as hell auction it. All the original
packaging and in as new (not quite mint) condition. Plenty of ink for
refilling goes with it too. Photos if you wish, just ask In case you are
wondering... I've bought a new model (Epson) scanner and I'm about to buy a
new (Epson) printer.

Brisbane where we is.
I posted the scanner here last week and no one put in an offer. Already it's
over $150 so that's $150 more than I got offered for it here. Same deal with
the printer. I need to get rid of it so I can buy the latest and greatest
Epson. I paid $900 for it June last year. Haven't seen one for sale since so
I don't know what a fair price is. Do you?

Well, that's why I put it to the group. To find out what it's worth and sell
it.
I am rapidly coming to the conclussion that to Auction it is the only way to
get a fair price.

Buyers offer only what they are prepared to pay and sellers are assured of
getting what it is worth in the market place... Even though I think Ebay is
so full of crooks and scammers, I would never buy there! So... Play your
cards and take your chances!

I'll keep that in mind Michael
Keep in mind also that I have over $120 worth of cartridges to go with it.
The offer might be a little low, I really have no idea. Anyone else got a
comment here?

The page length is limited to 23.4" and I have a market for longer photos of
my panoramas. I am going to buy an Epson printer which has roll feed and no
limit to the length it will print.

I am also not entirely satisfied prints from Canon printers have anywhere
near the life expectancy Canon claim. Because I sell the photos, customers
have a right to expect the pictures they buy will last just like a
traditional photo. Canon say 25 years... I say 25 weeks print life. You
can't spray UV coating on inkjet paper and lamination will peel off too.

That is why I'm selling it. If you intend to sell the output. Don't even
consider it. If however you are a hobby photographer and you intend to mount
and frame your photos, this is as good as it gets under $1000. Canon
recently published a load of crap about how to achieve 25 year print life.
Pity they didn't publish it before I sold a few hundred photos I had to
replace.

Basically lock away the prints in a humidicrib and hide them in a dark
place, don't ever show anyone and never put it in a particle board draw
because the formaldehyde used to glue the particles together will destroy
the picture. I guess if you spend $290 getting a picture framed and the
framer doesn't use UV rated glass, you might be able to get him to re-frame
the replacement, I couldn't.

The $700 portrait that cost me $500 because of Canon's bullshit hangs on my
wall as a constant reminder that bullshit beats brains 90% of the time.
Pissed off? You bet. I might even take the unforgivable step of replacing
all my Canon DSLR gear with Nikon too!

Well maybe it's cool but it sure as hell needs to see the next generation
sensors before it can hold a candle to an EOS.
Bugger!

One of the problems with getting pissed of at Canon is that in the end, they
are no different to the rest! Not selling my gear, just ranting about that
mongrel company.

I'll put the printer on EBay tomorrow. Don't seem to even get anyone's
opinion of price here. Maybe honesty is not the right policy. $200 for a 6
months old printer still renown as producing the best quality images of any
in it's class with full tanks which have a retail value of $100 plus enough
ink to last the average Joe till Christmas is just a little off target, I
think. A bit like selling ice to the Eskimos!

Maybe because some of us didn't see the model etc .. after all, the subject
appears to be about a scanner ;o)

You're right.
Still I think I'll get a better reception for it on EBay.

Let us know how you go .. I have a couple of printers here that I haven't
put on ebay because the logistics of packing them up and having them arrive
in one piece at the other end worries me.....
