If I bought a front projector for home/private use from an overseas
supplier.. say, Pricejapan... what is the process of product registration
and warranty service? Can I expect any hassles if something goes wrong and I
need to make a claim?
What are the traps for young players ordering from overseas?
Any advice will be much appreciated.

Depends on brand and what's written on the warranty slip... with Denon I
think you're screwed for overseas warranty, but Sony/Nikon and probably
several others should have international warranty that allows you to return
the item to the local approved repairer.

Check to see that it has an international warranty. However, that is not
necessarily a guarantee that the local subsidiary will cover you.

If exactly the same model is not sold here, it is unlikely the local
subsidiary will want to service it.

Also, you don't have the same rights under Australian law that you have with
goods bought here (which have a minimum legal warranty regardless of what
the manufacturer's warranty states).
