I will leave it for jok11n to try on an unaltered player - (he has your samples now).

Hi,

We're probably all  , but I'm kinda :dD as it's worked out fine for me, I have 2 XMS-888 that play ALL AVI's now I've tested..

jok11n, best of luck trying the samples in an untouched XMS-888 as they wouldn't play in a brand new unflashed XMS-888 from Strathfield last Friday 5/3/04, but play on the one I replaced that one with on Sunday 7/3/04.

Please Note: All I'm trying to workout if it is a hardware or firmware issue.

If it is firmware issue, great, if the feature was available in an earlier f/w, it should beable to be added back in unless the code is getting too big and they had to compromise.

If it's hardware, then for me it's fine also, I could flash to f/w 1.2 and later with no loss of features/functions.

Hi,

Anything further to add about the samples, did they play on untouched XMS-888 with original firmware.

I'm still puzzled and

Cheerz :) ;) :D

I wasn't able to get a virgin player this week, all of the ones where I am have been updated. I will have one early next week though and I will let you know how it goes

Hi,

I went into the Adelaide Strathfield store today and tested their display XMS-888 and it played all the avi's. As they are waiting for new stock, I think they may have had this one for a little while.

Cheerz :) ;) :dD
