Hi all, I need some advice about a new dvd player. Firstly I would like to
say that if it wasn't for my wedding video being on DVD, I would be quite
happy with my Toshiba SD-2109 (it doesn't read DVD-R's) for a little while
longer until DVI players are common. My tv is a Metz Artos 82 Pro and using
component cables. I may also get a front projector in the near future.
Anyway my requirements are:
1. Can play recorded DVD's (DVD-R specifically)
2. Excellent video quality (at least as good as current player) when using
component cables.
SCART RGB players will also be considered.
3. Built in decoders not needed (unless DVD-Audio/SACD)
4. Black colour preferable(all my AV equipment is black, this should narrow
the choices)
5. DVD-A/SACD would be nice but I am not wanting to spend big money at this
stage
6. Price = low cost ~ $300
My toshiba has worked flawlessly from day 1 (5 years ago) and shows no sign
of dying, therefore I would be quite happy with another Toshiba but if there
is something better out there I am all ears.
Thank You.
