Why is that? i have a teak widscreen tv and im happy with it. Anyway the picture tube is phillips like most other widscreens on the market. Buy the way it wasn't that cheap around $1000.

well i have a few things teac, but my vcr is latest thing that ive bought from that brand, (about 18 months ago) and it rewinds slow as, the picture is weird when i play tapes (has lines down the side) and its now started to screw up the sound on certain tapes as well as do weird things so it is unwatchable.

maybe ur tv is good, and like i said, u get what u pay for. u paid a bit more for ur widescreen tv, i went for a cheap 6-head vcr, teac happened to be the cheapest out of the brands i knew, and consequently was the sh***est.

just my opinion though
