anyone got any reviews or comments about this player please?
Tried a Google and only hit it came up with was at Strathfield, so obviously this is a rebadged machine.
any comments most welcome, this'd be a useful player for the spare room.
regards,
Craig

Dvx is an in house brand so you won't find details on it anywhere else, only a very basic unit (no display on the front panel) but it has been very reliable and has a very low return rate. For $74 it's pretty good value for money
This being a DVD player, not a DivX capable player, I have moved it to the DVD section.
Also, don't know about that one, but when I was in a Strathfield store the other day, I saw a $68 one (if your looking for a cheap player) with a display, and it read some test discs I had with me (VCD, SVCD, DVD) ok...
see ... http://www.strathfield.com.au/catalogue_archive.asp?CatID=41&PageNumber=3
jok11n could probably tell you if it's any good or not, but seemed ok at first glance.

It's not too bad, but the extra $6 buys a better quality player though, even though it doesn't have a display on the front panel it's still a fairly well featured unit.

Yes the days of $74 Divx players are not quite here yet, although I'm sure it won't be that long before it happens.

Xmas 2004? :-)
that's not unrealistic
hello.. i went and have a look at these DVD players.
I asked the sales person and they said that these players can't play DVD-Rs. :(
I know that it doesn't say that it can on the box, but some cheap dvd players can play DVD-Rs. I have a C-Tech one i bought ages ago. It doesn't say it can play DVD-Rs on the box, but it does.
Does anyone have one of these cheaper DVD players from straithfield who can let me know? I play mainly DVD-Rs so i don't want to take the risk.
ie the Onix AD-1500 $68 or any under $100
Thank you! :D

I just checked both the DVX151 and the AD1500 and they both had no problem playing DVD-R (cheap Enzo $1 discs)
The DVX151 is actually the same player as the Daewoo DVD S151.
If you Google this player you'll come up with plenty of info, reviews and even the user's manual in PDF format.
From a quick look it seems to be a good player for the money.
