Nah, Im pretty sure you are unable to do this for gamecube. How would you make backups of games anyway?? I heard that the Nintendo discs are a special type or something...

There is a heavily modified version of the Gamecube which runs ROMs from CDs. This is, naturally, not endorsed by Nintendo and can only be purchased in certain "non-copyright friendly" areas of Asia.

The regular Gamecube can't be modified with a chip like other systems.

There is a way to play backups on a Gamecube but it does not require modding.

You need:

The GC
A Gameboy Player attachment
Flash Cart which has a copy of the GC bios on it (how in the hell you can get a copy of the bios I do not know).

Basically if you pop in a backup disc (some games are available if you know where to look), the game will boot up using the GC Bios on the Flash Cart.

But way too expensive really, just buy the games.

But a GC can be modded to play different region games. Sites like lik-sang sell modded Japanese cubes which play US games without a freeloader or action replay. They also sell Modified Panasonic Q's with the same function
