Denon 1400 and NTSC Discs

I was all ready to get a Denon DVD-1400 when I discovered (somewhere) that
while it can play NTSC discs, it standards converts it to PAL. Is this
correct, or does it output PAL @ 60Hz (I think they call it PAL 60). I have
a number of region 1 discs, and I would much rather it simply output NTSC
(my tv can handle it) that to do a bodgy 60Hz to 50Hz conversion.

Other than that, it seems to have everything I want.

I have the 2200, and have never used the 1400, but I would think they work the same.
It will only do the conversion if you tell it to in the setup menu, otherwise it will output whats on the disc. The quality of the conversion is supposedly not that good from what i've heard. As long as your TV can do NTSC and PAL you shouldn't have any probs.
