I do however agree that this is one of the best movies ever made :)
While i dont' own the region 2 copy, i do own the r3 IVL copy (yes its a legal copy, and is acknowledged by ghibli :D). I would imagine that the r3 used the same masters as the r2, and once i popped in the dvd, it was pretty back imo. If however, i was not aware of the "red tint" issue, i would have never noticed it. The only reason i did not wait for madman's releas of SA is the fact that i tend to collect all the ghibli R3 dvds so i can complete the "Studio Ghibli Collection" :D
Apparently in the next couple of weeks, the PAL R2 French release, will have no red tint of any kind. I really hope that the french does an excellent release, as madman's R4 PAL release will be based on the french release.
According to this thread (http://forums.animeondvd.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=9&topic_id=5601), the R3 Korean release will too not have a "red tint", if that is the case, it will be the first asian dvd of spirited away that hasnt got the "red tint"
Dont' know if i am allowed to post pics here but i will give it a shot anyway, if im not, Watcher, just edit my post and take the tags off, but please leave this (http://www.dvdprime.com/board/dvdinfoviewbody.php3?code=dpnews&page_num=1&number=177&keyfield=&key=) link (which takes you to the R2 vs R3 Korean comparison)
