Shrek 2 disc re-release (aka cashcow)

Apart from the DTS audio track, will the Shrek two disc set offer anything else substantial? Definitive version or a studio continuing to whip the cashcow?

I assume they put the extras on the second dicc to make room for the DTS track on disc 1. What do you think the chances are of a better transfer as well? Higher bit-rates and less artifacts?

Were there any problems with the transfer used on the first dvd release anyway?? (I didn't see any)

I guess this set is mainly for those with DTS or those who still havent got a shrek dvd. Cause I look at the Special features and most appear to be on the version I already have.

Mind you, I do prefer the new cover art...:D

Will a DTS soundtrack really improve this movies experience? I doubt it. I feel DTS is best suited for action movies the rest I don't think really benifit.

But I still must admit if a disc has DTS on it I am more inclined to buy it as it happens to be the only extra I like to pay for.

Ahhh!! Now I understand. We're not getting a special edition, we're just getting the standard edition that's been available in the USA from the word go. Typical.



Pity they waste space providing a full screen transfer on disc one. I'm sure there are people who still ask for 4:3, but when are they going to learn??

I bought the R4 2-disc set yesterday (a gift for my brothers kid). There's a few more 'kids games' on the fist disc (with the 4:3 transfer), and of course there's the DTS soundtrack on disc 2. But that appears to be about it. I think the new cover art is nicer, but I could be alone on that one.

The green amaray case makes it look like a Microsoft product as well:D

I like the cover art aswell. I wont bother updating. Sure dts is sweet but not worth the update. As for the extras the ones on the first release bored me, so more of that no thanks.

I got the R1 2 disc, just before the R4 2 disc was rumoured :'(

It's not fair that only the SHREK videos get a free mobile sofa, why not include it with the DVD's :mad:
