Hi guys
What I'm looking for is a divx set-top player for my 4:3 TV that can Pan-and-Scan avi files as desired, like you can with the PC software "BS Player".
http://www.bsplayer.org
In BS player you can resize a narrow 2.4:1 avi movie to fill more (or all) of your screen by pressing + to zoom in (and - to zoom out) to your desired size and it retains the correct aspect ratio.
Is there such a set-top player?
Modded XBox maybe....
Possibly the Kiss player...
BSPlayer is definetly very versatile.

Doesn't look like likely... but i figure i could just go with the PC and use TV-out. The signal would have to be beamed to another TV a few rooms away - I know there was a little unit that could do such a thing for VCRs but that was VCR to VCR.
I have no idea about TV... and TV-out using RCA cable from a PC's VGA card can't be plugged directly into a VCR, it has to be a TV with TV-in.
Is there a way to beam the signal to a TV a few rooms away?
Sounds something like this, from Jaycar...

That looks excellent... can you try the function and tell me what %increments u can use? With BS player you can pan&Scan zoom by increments of 1%.

Mate, Im not exactly sure whether you can resize an .avi file the way you want it to but I know that the neuston player can pan&scan, and zoom, thus in theory, it can be done manually!
