Digital..Phone Line?

Can Someone just tell me how this works.. does the (foxtel) set top box connect to your phone line? If so, when will you use it and what for? i dont really want to be using the phone line all day..
if somone could clear this up for me.. it would be great

I had foxtel digital installed on thursday, the installer asked me if I wanted the return path, I said NO thanks, he said fine. My advice is just tell the installer you don't want the return path installed.
It only stops you from ordering box office movies/adult/main event stuff with the remote, you can still call up and order over the phone.
My install took 30min, his previous install took 5 hours cos he had to stuff around with phone line etc. Foxtel don't go out of their way to tell you that a return path is not required, but you don't have to have it installed if you don't want.

ok, thanks yer helps heaps..
might just ask him if the return path will take long to install.. if not i guess i may aswell have it.. otherwise i wont really need it.
