Folks,
A little help if you don't mind. I am looking to purchase a digital
television receiver. I have very limited knowledge on the topic, but I do
know that I only want to spend sub $400 if possible. Your thoughts,
experiences, recommendations and opinions please.
Cheers,
Dave.

I have a Nextwave TDR-3100 SD STB. Very good, has sensitive tuner and you
can delete individual channels you do not want like HD channels. You can't
do this on some boxes. $299 or slightly less.

We bought the Teac 300 and have been really happy with it. It is now well
below $300.

I have got a Strong SRT5200 SD Set top Box, and am very impressed with it's
performance. Hantrex have this box on sale @ $249 (incl. delivery anywhere
in OZ I think?) Good value for money I reckon.

Firstly, do you have a HD (High Definition) ready tv or not. If not, you
only need a SD (Standard Definition) set top box which are much less
expensive than the HD ones. $400 will get you a very good one. It seems
DGTech are to be avoided from what I've read.
