Hi there all,
I recently got an XMS 007 STB.

Was pretty cheap, $188 from Strathfield.

Anyway, I had a question.

It has a digital out on the back.
However it is not an optical TOSLINK output.
It is just a single RCA jack.

So where does one connect this to the amplifier?

Is there a RCA to TOSLINK optical cable?

Or do I need to get one of those 2RCA->1RCA cables
and plug the 2-end part of the cable into the amplifier?

Thanks in advance.

The surround sound amp should have provision for both rca and optical
digital cables. Its just a matter of making sure you buy the correct rca
cable type suitable for digital signal transmition.

The one your looking for is Double shielded RG59U cable, suitable for
sending digital or Analogue signals t the TV/VCR?Editing Suite or Home
Theatre Sytem.

The ones available at Jaycar are decent quality and will do your job as
specified.
