Punters shopping for one of these boxes might be
interested to know...
I went off to NAPF Electronics in West Ryde (Sydney) this
morning on the strength of a couple of posts in here
and in the dba online forums, shopping for a Topfield
PVR.
They had the box on the floor (one plus one demo model
that is out of the box, but not powered up or plugged
in and still with protective stickers on) with a
$999.00 price tag on it.
I told the salesdroid that I had read (on here) of people
purchasing the unit for $860 and $875 in recent weeks.
He made a telephone call somewhere, and came back and told
me that Topfield had done them a special on about half
a dozen units at that price and that those ones had
been sold.
He offered me one at $900.00. I bought it.
