Seems to me that the people at Foxtel don't have a business brain between
them.

If there's 800 installers and they can get through say 4 installs a day
that's 16,000 installs this week alone.

If say 80% of them haven't been done then there are 12,800 disgruntled
customers occupying lets say 5 mins of a CSR's time. If a CSR's cost to
Foxtel is approx $50/hour then that's $53,000.

If 50% of the callers are getting a free install then that's a loss of
revenue for Foxtel of $320,000.

If say 20% of them are getting 1 months free service @ an average of
$70.00/month then there's an additional loss of revenue for foxtel of
$180,000.

That's a staggering $553,000 loss in a week.

They have also offered the 800 installers an extra $1,000. That's another
$800,000 and it's been rejected.

The loss to Foxtel for this little outburst is going to heading towards $2m
by the time it's over.

If 100,000 are waiting to sign up surely Foxtel can afford an increase of
say $20 per installation. That's an extra $480 in the pockets of the
installers per week if they do 4 installs per day 6 days a week.

Thank you captain.....

Is it me or does this seem like a conversation from a well known 60's tv
series? ;-)

Can he come to my place - I'm waiting on third time lucky - first one
cancelled, 2nd one no-show.

Which is why they are ripe for a takeover from Vevendi who will sort them
out once and for all.

Vevendi certainly won't allow this crap to go on..

10 + a day ?? Either he's pulling himself, or I'd hate to see the quality
of his work !

interesting idea except Foxtel is not listed - so it cannot be
takenover unless its shareholders - Murchoch, Telstra etc want to sell
it. And almost certainly if one of them wanted to sell they'd have to
offer to the others first (standard term for such a venture).

looks like we're stuck with them for a while. Personally i'd love
Telstra to get out - its just screwing up the market having the
infrastructure provider also the (part) owner of the pay service.
Murdoch can run TV services around the world - you dont have to love
him but he knows business. Telstra on the other hand.....
