Hi, I read in an article that it is possible to select PAL/NTSC/AUTO playback functions from a series of keypresses on the front panel.. I have recently moved and have the owners manual packed away somewhere... 8( I am assuming it would be noted in there. Anyways, can anyone help me out by giving me the keys/sequence etc.

TIA regards
Glenn

Hi Maza, thanks for the help with the pal/ntsc/auto selection question.

NTSC, PAL, and SECAM are the three main video signal formats that are used around the world. As these are (signal formats) they have nothing to do with enabling playback of various region designated dvd's.

DVD players have "region codes" that restrict their use based on geographic location. Each player is given a code for the region in which it is sold, and it will not play discs that are not designated for that region. This means that discs bought in one country may not play on players bought in another country. However, DVDs can also use a region code of "0", which means those DVDs are region-free and should be playable in any DVD player in the world.

There where DV-344 players sold here in Australia that where multi region players, from what I have read from previous posts they where identified by a green dot on the side of the packing box.

Hopes this helps

Glenn
