It pays to read up on release dates. I learnt that yesterday after seeing "The Nightmare Before Christmas Special Edition" at my local Target for $26.
You see, I only recently got it from the U.K for more than twice the price.......
AAAAAAAAAAAaaaarggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!:p
Well now that's over with. The good news. All you lovely EYO forum people can rush out and buy 3 copies of this awesome film. One copy for you, one for someone you love, one for someone you want to love.
And it a great disc:
16:9 transfer
5.1 DD
Audio commentary
Making of NMBC (21 min aprox)
Deleted scenes
Concept art, character art, trailers
2 of Tim Burton's early short films:
"Vincent" -5 min (excellent btw)
"Frankenweenie" -30 min
Nice new cover art
:D BUY IT NOW:D
This is simply one of the best animated features EVER. It's easily my favouirite XMAS special (yes it beats out Rankin/Bass 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer' /1964) and in the realm of stop-start animation, it has no equal (Chicken Run my arse!!). And its a musical too!!! Tim Burton you ROCK!!! Just don't make another film like 'Planet of the Apes' ... and hurry up with "Ed Wood:SE".
There's very little stop-motion animation being done these days. All the major studios seem to think CG animation is the best way to go. Now I love Shrek, Toy Story... but for me, there's still nothing as cool as well done stop motion. These puppets seem more alive than even the best bump-mapped, motion captured CG character coming out of Pixar....
