I know that U have digital pay tv over there, but does digital
free-to-air in NZ offer multichanneling or do U have the same barbaric
Neanderlithic structure that we poor Aussies have to put up with --
the worst FTA TV choice in the world !!!

There's no digital terrestrial FTA in NZ. I don't think the NZ govt has even
addressed the issue.

With Sky NZ having 550000 customers (their figures) there are some that
doubt we even need to bother with a terrestrial digital service.

That's not surprising... given that NZ is in the one time zone, the only
limitation to having a DVB-S based system for NZ would be the regional
advertising issues higlighted in the discussion paper. Well, that, and
everyone having to purchase dishes and STBs. Plus TV3, C4 and Prime would
have to be provided unencrypted.
