Hi,
What did you think of the commentary on this DVD?
The movie is 'MA' but I think the comm should have been rated
separately to 'R' :-)

I only listened to a bit at the start myself, and I'm spewin I did, cause Milla Jovovich comes arcoss a bit on herself - cutting off the director to talk about herself and saying to look at her naked (or something to that effect - can't remember too well - I think around the scene where she wakes up). Not that I have a problem with seeing Milla naked of course, but it's not like I didn't notice it beforehand ;-) and she didn't have to cut the director off mid-sentence.
Can't comment on the rating sorry - didn't hear enough of it.

I didn't have a problem with it. Commentaries are usually really dull to listen to but some recent horror films have had some great 'group' commentaries. It does result in some person talking over another but anything that can liven these commentaries up, gets a thumbs up in my book.

eh? you mean something to this effect:

Milla: Look at me! I'm naked in this scene!

More or less.

While watching the film I made a mental note to check the commentary
on that scene later, to see what Milla had to say about it. I was a
bit disappointed to find that director Paul Anderson was droning on
about colour grading during that bit, until:

"Hey, will you shut up about the grading - that's my nipple! Was I
committed to this project or what?" (from memory)

(Followed by Anderson talking about the negotiations with her agent
required to get a nipple, and that they couldn't afford both of them.)

Must listen to the rest of the commentary some time... it was fun :)

We love television because television brings us a world in which
television does not exist. In fact, deep in their hearts, this is what
the spuds crave most: a rich, new, participatory life.

Yeah, don't get me wrong it was just a bit of a shock, I've never heard
anything like it on a DVD rated MA.
The commentary is the highlight of the DVD for me.

I first saw her in The Fifth Element and instantly fell in love with her.
Isn't it amazing how the on-screen persona can be totally different
from the real person. Like chalk and cheese.
A little naive I suppose but I don't much care for her any more.

You need to watch the Directors Cut of Amadeus. It is rated PG but
the "C" word is mentioned (even in subtitles) - plus various nudity...
