Yeah I know it is an old player, but my replacement one packed it in today, so I am left with no multizoning.. Which is a real bugger since I just ordered 20 R1's.

Anyone know any codes, button presses whatever to make this old baby play multizoned??

Cheers

I thought it was a factory Mod? Back in the early days places used to charge exorbitant rates for DVD modding.

Yeah I have the feeling, it will need to be opened to make multizoned, which is not worth it..

Probably just have to buy a new player... I think fixing the dv-344 will be a waste of money, as it probably is the lasers.. could be fun pulling it apart and looking about in it.

This (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdhacks.php?select=Pioneer+DV-525) link provides some info on making it multizone. Let us know if it works, fails or FUBAR's your player.

A new decent Conia is around $99. The only problem with it is that there is no standby so you must turn it on/off at the switch which is anoying. My Conia 310TK plays everything I throw at it even 99min CD-Rs. My pioneer 355 has trouble playing 99min cd-rs past the ~89min mark.

Ive found the pioneers whilst realiable are a little sensitive to scratches. Ive had some discs that it didnt want to play properly. I chucked them in the conia and no probs at all.

Something to think about.

thanks

Very useful, and I thought I was in luck there, but I need to update the firmware... Be easier updating the plaer.

That Conia sounds like it could be worth looking into...

yeah no probs AFAIK.
I havnt tried coax though.

Updating firmware is not hard, just make sure you get the right one stick it on CD with the right flashing util and pop it in the player.

Ive flash updated a friends player to multizone and worked no probs.

Click here (http://www.pioneeraus.com.au/home_entertainment/forms/tech_support_form.aspx) for the tech support form of pioneer. You should be able to ask them for the latest firmware with instructions. If your lucky they will send it to you on CD.

thanks
