Let's just do a quick diagnosis:
- What do you mean by loosing the picture?

i) No Signal >>> LNB issue or possible solar interference or cabling
ii) Blank 'black' screen >>> STU issue
iii) Blue screen >>> Check Your STU to TV 'wiring'
iv) Goes pixely >>> LNB or signal quality or decoder issue (reset it -- 30 secs)
v) E31 >>> Stuffed up "Foxtel" card. Order a replacement.

That's all I can think of!

Brad

picture just stops and the screen goes black with no error codes...
change the channel then it`s all ok for another 3-5 mins. or so...
eg = i`m watching fox8 and it just goes black , change the channel quickly
to 9 for example ,
then back to fox 8 and it is working again...

Brad, this problem is not through transmission as it is not being reported anywhere.

Most likely, there is a fault with the STU or the smart card.

You can do the following:
- Unplug your STU from the power socket
- Reconnect after 30 seconds
- If the above doesn't work, reset settings on the STU.
- If there's still a problem, call 131 999 to report 'fault'
- The technician should bring a new STU and smart card (for testing anyway)

You pay your monthly fees, and should recieve full services 24/7!!

It did go out for 5-10 mins about lunchtime today.

Its been very unstable since they rolled out the new satellite cards.
Austar said its a known issue, even if "The Rock" doesn't think so.

Its well know that people who post through http://forums.eyo.com.au are a
bit slow.

It did go out for 5-10 mins about lunchtime today.

Most likely due to solar interference, which is affecting FOXTEL DIGITAL also.

OMG. What did I just say?

It's a STU or Card issue. Exactly.

It's got nothing to do with transmission via Optus C1 and using IRDETO 2. C1, now has plenty of bandwidth as Globecast has been kicked off....

Also wouldn't solar interference affect both horizontal AND verticle?
(assuming you know what that means)

But never let facts get in the way of a good guess.

Like you would know..... in your last post you were implying the op hadn't
paid their bill,
and it wasn't happening,

>>You pay your monthly fees, and should recieve full services 24/7!!

but now you say "Most likely due to solar interference, which is affecting
FOXTEL
DIGITAL also"

You don't seem to know much of anything do you.

As I said if you are dumb enough to post through eyo .........

You are an idiot. I said "You pay your monthly fees, and should recieve full services 24/7!!".

Anyone in their right mind knows that translates to the fact that he (Brad) deserves his service to be on 24/7 as he pays for it.

He shouldn't have to deal with the interruptions...

That's what I said. Maybe you shouldn't jump to conclusions!

You don't seem to know much of anything do you.

LOL.

Enlighten me with your "wise" version with what's happening....

*sarcasm*

As I said if you are dumb enough to post through eyo .........

How is posting via EYO dumb? It provides a gateway to USENET....

I am actually concerned with the discussion topics and not how I carry it out.

Moron.

Sounds to me like you are trying to hide your ID, is it possible you are
another foxtel csr? (suprise suprise)
That would certainly explain alot, your total lack of knowledge for a start.

Do you have to reply to EVERY single post with your dribble,
you are such a fuckwit, with no knowledge at all. Every single reply is
straight from the foxtel "script" the csrs are made to read to the poor
cutomers who call.

Bend over THE ROCKT, MrXX is waiting to drive you home.

No, for privacy reasons I don't use newreaders....

With the amount of info nerds like you can trace, who knows what sickfucks like you will do.

More or less, you are pissed about not getting my IP, ISP company etc. Right!

It's my choice what I reply to. There is no limit to what I can reply to, is there?

Judging by your interpretations of others' statements, especially in this post, you seem to the one with no knowledge at all...

It's surprising because Foxtel know-how nerds like yourself, actually know very little

Bend over THE ROCKT, MrXX is waiting to drive you home.

Keep your homophobic fantasies to yourself, okay.

It's clear you are a sad, pathetic homo and if you want to drive MrXX for a home run, go ahead... I couldn't give a fuck what 'homos' like yourself get upto

I am getting the same thing...has happened since the "digital switch on"
Screen goes blank for a minute or two, then picks up again.

Seems to be happening less now, but it was happening 2 or 3 times a
night for a while

Once it did go to searching for signal.
