If I were to play R4 PAL DVDs on my PC...what do i have to take note of? Cos I usually play R1 DVDs on my pc...other than changing the region code? Will my monitor and/or videocard have to support PAL output? Cos I cannot seem to find PAL compatibility in the manuals...

Pls help

Hi,

It should be able to handle it if it is a fairly recent card. My GeForce 256 DDR can handle all sorts of video.

Though i'm not sure if that is because we live in a PAL area. I take it you do not so the cards released in your area may not support it.

I suppose the best thing to do would be to rent one and try it out, I don't see any harm. The worst that can happen is that the software won't display a picture (or it might display a black and white one).

What video card do you have?

Thanks

If you are watching it on a monitor and not a TV you will have no problems at all.
Just make sure your DVD-ROM drive is multi-zone.
