I went a little ebay mad the other week and purchased a Tedelex surround sound system followed by a Digitrex dvd recorder and to top it off, a Teac set top box.
My question is, can I hook all of these up together? Is the set top box connected first followed by the recorder or the surround sound system?
What with the Tv I will have four remote controls. Wonder how confusing this is going to turn out to be!

I know how you feel. I've got 4 remotes sitting on the coffee table at one time too, sometimes I think I'd be better off with one of those fancy touch screen remotes that can do everything. I've heard palm pilots can even do it now with a program. Oops, getting off track.

Unless the surround sound system has enough inputs and a 5.1 decoder on board, you won't be able to get surround sound from the settop box. If it has a digital or optical input your laughing, just get the appropriate cable and hook it up that way.
If the surrounds sound only has an aux input, your best option would be to plug the settop box into the tv, then from the tv-out in the back of the set, into the sound system.

EDIT

Totally forgot about your recorder. you want to plug the set-top box directly into the recorder, then the from the recorder to the tv.

I'm sure some better help from one of the guys that frequent the Divx players section of the forums, a few have recorders. :)
