For most of the industry the terms "sub-contractor" and "cousin" are not
always interchangable.

A project manager can only effectively manage if he has the information at
hand when needed. Drawing design on napkins as you go is not a management
method I would recommend.
If you know what you are doing them doing the drawings first makes life
easier for the project manager and the installation team.
