Hi all,
I've recently installed a WD300BB on my M571 v3.2a (which has the latest BIOS update). I'm running windows 2000 sp2.
Everthing is working fine, except for the UDMA mode. When I boot up the machine the POST messages show that I have a UDMA 2 HDD, but when I check the device manager in win2k to see if the transfer mode is DMA, I found the main IDE channel is set to PIO mode, although the system gives me the possibility to choose "DMA if available" or "only PIO". Indeed, I've chosen the former, but anyway the system sets PIO transfer mode.
Is there anything I can do to enable DMA transfer in Win2k?
