Hiya guys was just wondering if anyone knew what the main differences are between the region 1 version and the region 3 version due to be released soon of this movie are, as there is quite a substantial difference in the price on cd-wow, yet they seem exactly the same besides the subtitles of course

I suppose the main difference between the R1 EEs and the rest of the world is that the box uses thicker/tougher/hard cardboard, which feels more luxurious compared to the paper-thin cardboard of say, R4 EE. The NTSC versions are disadvantaged by the 3:2 pulldown (film motion) conversion during playback. :confused:

the R3 will most likely have a dual language cover too, like most Canadian R1's.

R1s seem to have those annoying adds & movie trailers that you can't bypass.......

Actually, of all my DVDs (90% Canadian) only the ones from Universal seem to have bilingual covers...seems they are a bit tight and cut corners by not using seperate packing in Quebec vs. Rest of Canada.

LOTR is New Line Cinema, and as I recall they don't use bilingual packaging
