I'm getting the Lord of the Rings Extended 4-disc edition for Christmas and I was curious about something..... I noticed the other day as I was looking at the box of the DVD at JB Hi-Fi that it says that disc 1 and 2 is the extended movie.
Does that mean that in the middle of the film I have to get up, and change discs?
I hope this is not the case, but I guess I could live with it :p
Thanks in advance.

yeah you have to change the disc..
I do not know if it is in a bad location, cos I only have the 2 disc version. I know personally changing discs in any movie annoys me, even if the film is 4 hrs long, but hey what can we do. If it don't fit it don't fit. I wouldn't sacrifice picture or sound quality for the inconvenience

Hey thanks for the quick reply.
I guess it won't hurt to have to change the disc :)
Oh no, I just realised I've posted this in the wrong topic board :(
How do I put it in the DVD Stuff board?

I guess as it is a 3 1/2 hr film(including the extra 30 mins footage put back into it) AND the DTS track makes it hard to have it all on one disk....

Watcher or Houndsy will move it if they feel it is in an incorrect place.

When I heard that it was spread over two disks
I was infuriated too.
After watching, it's not too bad.
With a film that length you (meaning me :D )
need to get up to stretch the legs, get more snacks and
drinks.
The extended version is so much better in my opinion
but I see why they had to trim it for the cinema!
