Hi all,
I am looking at buying a home cinema audio setup in the very near future and would welcome some opinions and suggestions. I have looked at a lot of speakers in the last couple of months and have narrowed it down somewhat to the following possible options:
1) Dynaudio Audience 72 based system
2) B&W 704 based system
3) Subsonic PM1 based system (yet to be properly auditioned)
The room is approx. 22 m sqr
The system will be used for music as well as home cinema, so we have based our choices on speakers that sound musical as well as good in home cinema. We tend to like a slightly warm sound, with very good imaging.
Has anyone else compared these speakers, especially the Subsonics, since reviews of them seem a little scarce?
I am also looking at an AV receiver, and have the following options
1) Marantz 7400 (favorite based on features and value for money
2) Onkyo 800 (Have been offered a very good deal on this, less than the Marantz by approx $300)
It is difficult to test each amp with each speaker, because as most of you know it's almost impossible to find the same speaker in more than one shop in the Sydney area.
All comments would be welcome
