Hello,

im doing some research into in-wall and in-ceiling speakers and have come across alot of nothing in regards to the concept. Most of the brand sites, as you can imagine just say what product specs are with out really giving the advantages of the concept or why a consumer should look into flush mount speakers.

The question is:

In looking at speakers for your home, regardless of what application they are for, were flush mount speakers considered? why did you go for them or chose not to get them? Do you feel you were educated enough in the concept of flushmount speakers from the store you purchased your speakers from?

any and all replies would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Dallas

Paradigm make a range of quality in wall speakers. The CS Series:

And the AMS series:

However I did not consider these for myself as I believe that the sound quality will be compromised, regardless of how well the speaker is designed.

I have done some research on in-wall/ceiling speakers just recently and have
considered the option on the Dynaudio IP24's. Fantastic speaker and only
needs 90cm of wall capacity to fit them. The reason that I was considering
them, was for home cinema use (mainly surround and surround back
application). I didn't want to cluter the room up anymore with a set of
bookshelf speaker's or hang them off the ceiling, so I guess that it is only
aesthetic reasons only. To also let you know that George Lucas (so I have
been told) is using Sonance in ceiling in Skywalker Ranch. They have an
adjustable tweeter, which you can fire to where you want to, giving you a
better sound feild.

Hope that helps you out.
