He is correct about the cost from local retailers though. If you
wanted to buy the genuine brand 'Monster' cable then this would seem a
pretty good price.

You are correct in that you can get the cable from the US at a lower
cost. If you convert to A$ and add postage it's obviously still
cheaper. How long it takes to be delivered also must be considered.

I would not completely agree with the section which deals with
"similar" quality cables. I have tried the cables you've suggested on
my large HD screen and there is a material difference between monster
component cables and the $50 cables. If you have a small screen, and
the quality of your gear is not high, then your probably right, the
$50 cables will seem similar in quality.

It's important to distinguish exactly what this guy is saying. That
is, genuine monster cables at a lower price. If people don't want to
buy the "BMW" of cables then that is fine. However, if people want to
buy, but don't want to pay $300+ then this is probably a reasonable
deal.
