Emtech 1150 Problem

hi all
any EMTECH1150 users

i recently bought a set from GLOBALSAT cod

it worked ok for about 10 mins (but no picture as was searching ..... even though i get ABC 97% analog)
as i was going through the menu it just froze on DIG radio and havent been able to shift it

remote seems to work (lightsup etc changed batteries)

also front standby, channel change is also frozen?????

could i have upset some password mode?????
stopping me from access
i have pulled the plug, reset with just about anyway i could think of ,but no luck

also get alot of matrix dots on direct tv channels?????

any ideas

Not much help I know, but I've had mine for over 6 months now with no
dramas...

What area are you in (I'm in Sydney) - may be worthwhile seeing if other
users have the same problem - may point to a transmission issue.

Also probably a good idea to get the latest firmware from Kristals web site
(I think its www.kristal.com.au).

If other users are ok and you have the right firmware, I'd take it back and
get a replacement.

i live in nth nsw 10 km from mt nardi transmitter

the machine is a brand new "HOMECAST" (EMTECH'S new name) so i guess firmware would be up to date
(function button changes 4/3 16/9)

does yours make any diagonal interference lines???

looks like i might have bought a dud!!!!

no reply back from GLOBALSAT as yet

Yeah, the aspect ratio changes were in the latest firmware.

Nope - I get a nice clear picture.

Bummer - good luck getting a replacement.

It might also be worthwhile checking out other STBs in places like Dick
Smiths etc near you (if there are any!) to see if they have problems...
other than that you might need to buy one and then return either it or the
emtech if the new one works.
