is there any such thing as a digitial set top box with av inputs? the reason i ask is because my vcr only has 1 input, as does my tv (which is connected to the vcr), and i don't want to be unplugging the dvd/digi box all the time.

if there is no such device, the only option would be to have the vcr/dvd connected to the tv using the coax cable, and the digi box connected to the av on the tv...

i hope that made sense :D

Um... Do you own a set-top box? All VCR's and digital set-top boxes
have 2 coaxial plugs, for input and output..

VCR's have an aerial connection input, and then aerial connection
output to connect that to the TV (I know of no VCR that only has 1
aerial socket for input only which forces you to use RCA output.).

STB's are the top, hook up the main aerial cable into the STB, then
another aerial cable going out from that into the VCR, and then
another going out from the VCR into the TV.

Also many have dual SCART, where one acts as a "passthru" input to the TV
when the box is in standby or a "passthru" button is hit. Most will
passthru composite, many will pass thru svideo, some will pass thru RGB
(Topfield does RGBS etc. Strong 5390 does too, Strong 5290 only does
composite).

I've been looking at my stb now for hours trying to find the hidden av
in connections. I think you may have been very mistaken when you made
this comment.

"Um... Do you own a set-top box? All VCR's and digital set-top boxes

I own a teac DV-B300 which has 1 scart connection out for component
video. 1 set of rca audio out connections for connection to amplifier
and 1 optical audio out connection, for digital audio. If this stb has
audio and video in connections they must be invisible ones.

Uh, I said an Coaxial input, which is an Aerial cable.. All STB's
that i've seen have 2 aerial connections, one for input and one for
output.

Err, the op asked about AV inputs, not RF
