Yeah, it's fairly obvious that XBox games are by FAR the most likely to be ported to PC. That's one of the reasons I never even considered getting one.

That's why PSX vs N64 worked so well.
It was CD vs Cartridge; with cartridge users opting for the (questionably) better graphics and durability of cartridges (to be honest, they would pack it in from dust anyway) and cd users opting for the 'digital' preference, and the ability to play music CD's and watch streaming Video.
Not to mention the copied games on the psx.

xbox will never die in any country that i can see so far. Maybe japan may lose xbox, due to poor sales.
If you have noticed lately you would see that ps2 is getting most of the pc ports as well.

thats true - japs don't like american consoles for some reason (maybe it has something to do with the war lol) but the xbox has better technical specs out of all the 3 consoles - 64mb ram +built in HDD and network adaptor compared to th ps2's 32mb no network adaptor; diff'nces between multiplatform games like prince of persia and LOR series are noticeable with the xbox winning hands down in the graphics/perf. dept (plus you can do a hell of load more with with an xbox once they're chipped; ps2reality barely handles divx at decent bitrates). The ps2 currently has about 1.1m consoles sold in Australia, xbox about 600,000 where the gamecube is at about 200,000 (got these out of smh's icon a couple of weeks ago); the main reason the ps2 is winning is because the jap developers are all behind it; like square, namco, capcom etc; m$ has to do alot of begging to get them to make games for their system and they haven't convinced square yet (a major reason why the ps2 is winning). I've always loved nintendo though; they are the innovators with miyamoto - they came up with the D pad with the nes, came up also with the rumble pak for the n64 which sony ripped off in DS controller, also came up with the first ever 3D platformer in mario 64 + a helped est. inadvertantly the first playstation (ppl who remember will know that sony was commissioned by nintendo to develop a cd unit for the snes which fell out and eventually led to the playstation) - i feel kind of sorry for nintendo , if they go it will be a major loss to videogame industry, i'ld hate to see them develop multiplatform games like sega.

I own All Three Systems and the X-Box is the best then the PS2
When you think about it the gamecube can't even compare to the other two
it dosen't have a dvd player, you can't play cd's in it and most of the games for it a babyish.Um... you can't play CDs or DVDs in it?? OH NO! come on mate, xbox is WAY too big to be a console, it's friken huge it's a fat chunk of useless mass! Even the S control is too big and too difficult to use.Well if you think the GameCube is about to drop off don't buy one. Of course that will mean no Zelda Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Mario Kart Double Dash, F-Zero, Mario Golf, Super Monkey Ball, SSBM or Super Mario Sunshine.
You'll also be missing out on playable Link in Soul Calibur 2 :DI've played SC2 on all consoles, and I tell you GC is defiantly the most enjoyable. xbox is poor because 1. they rushed the release so they got a poor port, 2. I can't stand the friggen huge controls. Between PS2 and GC there's obviously the issue of Link which is easily the best out of the 3 bonus characters, but let's put that aside and focus on the gameplay. PS2 takes friggen ages to load, I mean 90% of it is loading times!! You have to wait a full 10 seconds when changing player costumes before they appear!
Link is defiantly a cool character in the game, but even if you're a fan of Spawn or Hiachi... Namco were lazy biogans and did scratchy jobs of them, didn't bother refining the characters. And THAT is Namco's fault, not the fault of the console being PS2 or XBOX which is why it would be wrong to compare the game's playability based on the bonus character.
So in terms of gameplay GC defiantly wins. Much faster loading than PS2, slightly (but significantly) faster loading than XBOX, easy to use controls (though I'll admit I changed the default controls to make it easier, most notably I changed Z to Guard, making it easy to press any combination of two buttons).
To ajlethal, re: rare,
Rare was going downhill anyway. I would have loved to play Donkey Kong Racing, since I loved Diddy Kong Racing, and Perfect Dark - but hey, Mario Kart Double Dash will probably make up for it (haven't got round to playing it yet).
-edit-
forgot to mention, GC is top-loading whereas xbox and ps2 are tray loading, which in my oppinion is not as good for a console, when you remember that tray loading devices take more room, weigh more, have mroe moving mechanical parts and most importantly require power to open or close the drive.
And let's face it, if your system were to suddenly stop working I'm sure you'd want to remove the game before sending off the console for servicing. Who knows it might be a hired game, or a mates game, or one of your favorate games that you'd be playing at your mates if your system don't work!
