i have purchased the infamous xms dvd player and tried to record from it to my md player with an optical cable coz the dvd player is the only thing i know with an optical output. it shows a red light on the port and through to the other end but the md player says no signal.
do i have to like change an option or code in the dvd player, is there anything else with an optical output that i can put a cd into

You will need the digital output set to pcm to record to minidisc, this option is generally set to raw
