I tried to update the firmware of my pioneer 116 dvd player but it failed. Now the dvd drive is not recognized at all by the computer, and the tray wont eject when the button is pressed. HELP!!
Is this fixable? How? Please help me out!!!

This happened a couple of years ago on my pioneer 115, give it a fair few hours and it will go back to normal. :)

If the drive is not recognised in the bios then you have no way of re flashing it. It's stuffed now, if it's less than a year old you could try sending for warranty. It will depend on the supplier as to whether it will slip through the system and get covered or not. You should have noticed that all the places that supply updated firmware for drives tell you that you use them at your own risk. If all else fails at least drives have come down now, and you can buy a better drive than this for less than $70
