Hi

Has anyone got any feedback (good or bad) about the Topfield TF5000PVRt box?
I'm considering buying one..... Is it worth the $1000+?

Had mine 2 weeks. I love it. More importantly, my wife likes it too. The
controls are quite easy to comprehend even without reading the manual
first.

Is it worth $1000? Well the Strong 5390 at around $600 might be considered
better value for money, but if you really want two tuners and the ability to
transfer files to the PC then, like me, you will probably be happy to pay
the extra.

Obie.

Visit http://www.dtvforum.info/. There's plenty of discussion there about
that machine, most if it very complimentary. I haven't got one but it
seems to be one of the very few modern devices that has inspired
passionate devotees. Also, note the thread about purchasing one as
you can get them for $8xx if you shop around.

It's awesome, but you shouldn't need to pay more than $880 for one, as Mark
B said in his post.

Best $840 (DSE Erina NSW) I have ever spent, awesome reproduction and
flexability. Easy to use, can dump MP3's on it from PC and take off
recordings and burn to CD if needed. I just wish that the station broadcast
EPG was more than the next show, not the Topfields fault.

If you want to haggle the price, take print offs of the Opentel and Strong
to DSE, ask if they can supply them and when they show you the Topfield
start the price comparisson, $840 is the lowest that they will go. If you
get a smarty that compares the specifications keep going back to the price.
