Today we had out new Fujitsu P42HHA30W plasma screen delivered. The guys doing the installation have configured it so that our analogue Foxtel AND our Strong 5390 STB/PVR both go to the plasma screen via the VCR. As I have now discovered, this means that we can't tape from Foxtel while watching digital, as both input via VCR. There MUST be a way of connecting the STB directly to the plasma screen. At the moment, VCR, Fox and digital all come into video 1 of the plasma; while the DVD comes into video 2. There are at 2 other video inputs to the plasma; video 3 & 4. According to the manual, these take composite video input. Neither of the SCART outputs from the back of the STB are currently in use. I am thinking we can connect from the TV SCART to either video 3 or 4 input on the plasma, but I don't know enough about it to be sure. (eg, what happens to the sound?) We are using a Bose Lifestyle 50 System for sound. ANy help gratefully received.

I should have said that video 3 & 4 inputs on the plasma were for COMPONENT video, not composite.

Hi Venus

I don't know your setup well enough to give any specific advice, but I thought it may be helpful if I told you how I have mine set up. My Loewe TV has 3 scart inputs, but I have 4 scart devices. So the video, dvd and stb are directly into the tv, and the xbox plugs into the scart input of the strong 5390. The only inconvenience is I need to use the AUX IN button on the STB remote to view xbox.

So with that, perhaps you can run fox into your vcr, and vcr into your stb?

Thanks Dave,
I was looking at the set-up myself again this morning, and your suggestion was one option I was looking at. I even had a go at re-configuring the set-up so that the VCR input was through the AUX SCART, but I couldn't seem to get it to work. I will have another go this afternoon (I won't let this beat me!)
