When you see a film, if you're up to it write a short review about it and give it a rating out of ten. Avoid posting spoilers to the film if you can.

Review of Dreamers.
Details
Directed by Bernardo Bertolucci
Cast Michael Pitt, Eva Green, Louis Garrel
Rated R
Viewing Status Currently showing at selected cinemas
The Dreamers is a film based in the time of the 1968 revolution in Paris in response to the sacking of the director of the Cinematheque Francaise, Henri Langlois. Though this sets the foundation for the film, anyone expecting a film about violent protests and rallys will be sadly mistaken if they choose this. The film is mostly about a young adult named Mathew from America who visits France and meets a young woman named Eva and her twin brother Theo. Mathew is invited to stay at their house for a month while their parents are away. What at first starts off as a trio obsessed with films who constantly test each other on knowledge and argue over who are some of the best actors, soon becomes a passionate sex story with all kinds of experimenting. The film goes on for quite some time with alot of sex, alcohol and freakish games.
It all suddenly ends when the violent protests are brought to their house after a brick is thrown through the window. The events that follow this will keep you memorised for the short while that they last.

Review of Elephant.

Rated MA
Running time 81 minutes

Elephant is a film about the Columbia High School shootings in America a few years back. Its based mostly around the victims' point of view. Its very long to get started as each victim relives the same typical school day before the shootings. As well as showing it through the victims' veiws they had it from the veiw of one witness named John Mcfarland, which added some needed interest. Thoughout the film they show bits of Alex and Erik's planning of the massacre, but it soley focuses on the last moments of these victim's lives.
The ending keeps you watching intently to the bitter end when it cuts of suddenly leaving the viewer curious of the final details which they'd have to make a effort to find.
Overall if you want to watch a film about Columbia to discover the facts, then you'd be far better off watching something like Bowling for Columbine, but if you're interested in the emotional side of the Columbia shootings then this may be worth a look.

Film: What's Eating Gilbert Grape [1993]
Director: Lasse Hallstrom.
Cast: Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Juliette Lewis, Darlene Cates.
Rated: PG
Score: 8/10
Gilbert Grape’s [Johnny Depp] astonishing tale begins with the deep introduction to the responsibilities Gilbert uncontrollably has for his family. His severely autistic younger brother, Arnie Grape [Leonardo Dicarpio] requires almost constant supervision, while his morbidly obese mother’s [Darlene Cates] gluttony is a consuming duty in itself, requiring abnormal care. Gilbert has two sisters, one an immature young girl who has no comprehension of what Gilbert accomplishes, and the other, a more mature sister who plays the role of a mother for the family. Living in an aged rural house, built by the deceased father long ago, the Grape Family is both unique in many aspects but also conventional in others.
Gilbert’s life is controlled by his familial commitments and he consciously understands that. With no direction in life, other than that of looking after others, Gilbert’s outlook is suddenly tested upon meeting a girl named Becky [Juliette Lewis]. As a relationship develops between the two, Gilbert slowly discovers what he wishes from life, a discovery which is compensated for with some of his irresponsible behavioral changes later in the film.
Leonardo Dicaprio’s character rescues this film from any possibility of turning into an emotional drain with his character’s consistencies to throw tantrums, screams, and disobey instructions both absorbing and entertaining the viewer. Several memorable moments involving an ‘out of bounds’ water tower effectively display this.
Leonardo Dicaprio’s role as the mentally retarded Arnie Grape in this film was superb, which earned him a much-deserved best supporting actor Oscar nomination. Darlene Cates, an amateur actress who was discovered by producers during a trashy midday talk show, performs the role of the depressed morbidly obese mother perfectly.
What’s Eating Gilbert Grape is a memorable, humorous and at times draining film that will satisfy anyone who craves a story with a good plot. However, at times this film could be seen as slow-moving, overly refined and of having repetitious aspects, there would be many who would see this film as being too pretentious.

Review of Back Fire
Director: A. Dean Bell
Rated: M
Running Time: 93 minutes (very long minutes)
Stars: Robert Mitchum, Kathy Ireland, Telly Savalas and briefly Edie Falco
Back Fire is riotous (sleep producing) send up of Backdraft. In the tradition of Naked Gun, (but not funny like Naked Gun.)
Jeremy Jackson played by Josh Mosby attemps to become the first male firewoman..
After Jeremy sees his mother killed in a fire, all he wants to do is become a firewomen. As He stumbles his way through the movie, and finding out the Mayor's plans along with the Most Evil Man ( played by Telly Savalas).
Overall that's about the brunt of it...
There are a couple of grin moments, but overall total crap. Avoid like the Plague
