Digitrex GK-1020 Noisy?

I just bought a Digitrex GK-1020 this morning - it's been placed in an entertainment cabinet onto a wooden shelf and makes a rather loud vibrating noise aswell as the unit which physically vibrates. This can be muffled by placing a cloth underneath it, but I was just wondering if other people have experienced this buzzing or if mine is a dud?

It seems to only do this when I play DVDs, not MP3 CDs, VCDs, etc...

I've found a couple dvd players go a bit spas when they go to play dvds. DVD-Roms in particular but my old DVD used to go balsitic when playing dvds ie lots of funky sounds and vibrating. The sounds you are hearing may just be the disc spinning up.
