Lilja 4-Ever

I've just finished seeing the awesome movie Lilja 4-Ever on the World Movies channel that I've wanted to see for some time (Thanks SBS!!). The subject of the film is about an impoverished 16-y.o. who is abandoned by her mother and later tricked into being trafficked in Sweden as a sex slave. Even though the film looks very low budget, it's an excellent movie and deserves credit. The movie is straightforward and doesn't attempt to be artsy in any fashion or style.

Next week World Movies is screening Malena which stars Monica Bellucci.

Lilja 4 Ever is one I must hire... Been on my list for quite a while as well

I knew nothing about this movie at all and only discovered it when flicking channels. It was a sad and bleak story that was done quite well and I'm glad I caught it now.

Did anyone catch "When Night is Falling" on World Movies the other day? That was a brilliant (and erotic) film. :dD

I'd like to see the Lilya movie - hope its showing again sometime soon...
