Why are they still allowed to stay after that? I've missed the last couple of episodes so sorry if I'm a bit slow here :rolling:

They claim to only have gone for 4 hours one night (yeah right!)

I've only been catching bits and pieces of this show, but from what I have seen, I don't understand why the producers haven't punished them for breaking the rules or made a comment on it. They had the security guards confirm that they vanished and didn't come back and have plenty of footage of them going away and coming back refreshed and in new clothes etc, but nothing has happened other than the contestants jacking up about it.

Probably because they needed the airtime for the other couple who left.

Yeah, I can't stand them either.
He is so gay and he doesn't even know it. And she is so preoccupied with her "energy" and "balance" that it drive me nuts hearing her talking about how "in touch" she is with herself. -Although I do think that this is a massive overcompensation for letting everything little thing get to her.
They seem so fake and over dramatic.

Seeing as this finishes this weekend, wondering who is still watching and if your opinions have changed at all throughout the series?

I didn't like Jamie and Andrew on the first couple of eps, now I like them, but Matt and Jane are my faves, gee I hope they win!

On the other hand, I used to like Richard and Steven and now I can't stand them. Don't know who's worse, them or Barbie and Ken!!

GO MATT & JANE!!

HUGE SPOILER!

Winner Of The Block Is - Jamie & Andrew
THE third Sydney apartment auctioned as part of The Block television series sold today for $868,000 - making renovators Jamie and Andrew the show's winners.

Disappointed ... Renovators Jane and Matt
The price paid for the pair's apartment in the northern beaches suburb of Manly was the highest above the set reserve of any of the four units sold as part of the Channel 9 show.

The couple, who entered The Block as replacements for Dani and Monique Bacha, secured a bid $78,000 higher than their reserve of $790,000.

The final apartment, renovated by Richard and Steven, also sold today - for $800,000, which matched the reserve price.

Jason and Kirsten yesterday sold their apartment for $872,000 - $77,000 above the reserve.

The efforts of Melbourne pair Matt and Jane garnered only the reserve price, $795,000.

Each of the four couples had eight weeks and a set budget to renovate a unit as part of the second series of The Block.

The contestants were allowed to keep any money paid above the reserve price.

In addition, the couple whose unit made the largest amount above the reserve secured an extra $100,000 prize.

Yesterday's auction was a bitter blow for East St Kilda couple Matt and Jane, who married on the show. They had expected a sale price of $850,000 to $900,000.

The surprise loss came despite the auctions of the first two properties drawing a crowd of 3000.

Further salt was rubbed into their wounds when the ground-floor courtyard apartment of their rivals, Sydney couple Jason and Kirsten, drew fierce bidding.

But Matt and Jane won't leave completely empty-handed for their efforts: they will take home a used four-wheel drive and a holiday after being voted most popular couple in the series.

Jane said she and Matt were bitterly disappointed, but had done their best in the renovation and would move on.

"To be first at auction was always going to be hard," Jane said.

"Disappointment is a natural feeling, but at the same time that's the competition and that's the gamble you take.

"There wouldn't be many people who wouldn't be disappointed if they were in our position.

"There were a few tears. It was an emotional time and anyone who has travelled it with us will know that."

Matt said he and Jane were proud of their handiwork and would not have changed their apartment design to fetch a higher price.

"Our apartment was the best we could do," Matt said.

"I wouldn't change anything. It is hard to feel negative when we've done our best.

"The way we did the show is more important. It doesn't just come down to money.

"That we lost is not the end of the world."

Matt said he was relieved to be free of the continual bickering and animosity with the other contestants.

But Jamie and Andrew - whose ground-floor apartment was auctioned at 10am today - called yesterday's result "insane".

"We just feel absolutely terrible for Jane and Matt, because we know how much they have put into this," Jamie said.

Adelaide real estate agent Cathy Pearce purchased the apartment "on the spur of the moment" for a friend.

"We had no plans to buy and hadn't registered as bidders for the auction," Ms Pearce said.

"But when we saw how slowly the bidding was going and that it would struggle to make its reserve, we just had to buy it."

Gay couple Steven and Richard's disco-themed top-floor apartment had the highest reserve, of $800,000, because it offers water views from its loft.

Bondi salesman Jamie Shakespeare, 30, said he had not watched the reality renovation program before making the winning bid for Jason and Kirsten's apartment, but believed Matt and Jane's flat was seriously underpriced.

The first series of The Block was one of the highest-rating programs in Australian television history, but this series has not done as well.

Last week's episode attracted more than 1,700,000 viewers across Australia.

I was happy with the outcome over all....

Shitty that Kirsten & what's his name did so well but oh so happy that Jamie & Andrew did better and won, but sad that Matt & Jane only just met reserve, but I cheered when steven and Richards did the same!!!!

I was forced to watch this program due to the wife's interest...but I must say it grew on me :)

I predicted that K&J would win mainly because of their extra land, but I'm glad J&A did in the end - I really didn't want the 'plastics' to win, nor 'the boys' mainly because of Steven's really strange behaviour - I still can't grasp what his problem was with M&J toward the end, and then to end up 'friends' with the plastics despite professing such dislike for them earlier. But perhaps it was part of his game play...

Although M&J didn't end up with any profit from the sale of their unit, they still did reasonably well as they got the new RAV4 for winning most popular couple, plus they got a couple of return tiks to Paris as a wedding gift...

The only couple to get nothing was R&S....say no more...

Wonder if there'll be Block3...Ch9 apparently took a bath on this one....

The plastics were possibly the worst couple I have ever seen( unless Hitler & Stalin were secret partners :dD ). OK maybe not that bad but I have not seen 2 ppl so phony, so full of self, so vain, so transparent, so hypocritical - it really peed me off that they got to me so much.

R&S were just manipulators with an evil twist and ultimately won exactly what they deserved - zip!
