Mouse is the only way for a strategy game like Star Craft or Civilization

After playing unreal tornie for a couple of years on the PC, I tried it when it first hit the PS2 and threw the controller down in disgust.
Even since then, I still find it harder to play FPS with a controller.

I saw in the last EB catalogue there is some kind of mini keyboard mouse combo thing for the PC, looks like it would kick ass over normal keyboard/mouse combo. Puts all the needed keys at the fingertips. looks wierd though.

I agree skitz, especially with racing sims, the PC versions seem a lot more "real" than any console! It's just a pity the PC games take longer to be released. waiting now for V8 Supercars Race Driver

I reckon X-Box is prolly best featured console at this date..but with PS3 & X-Box mk2 sitting in the wings things should get interesting.
Currently PS2 really is in the 3rd place ( funny how advertising can come back & bite you on the bum...can you say bum/bottom here lol)

And if you get your X-Box m@$$#d you can get by fairly cheaply :)
The poor old Gamecube is suffering the kiddy connection syndrome so it'll prolly go the way of the Dreamcast ( good console..lousy support, try Bleem & Gran Torisimo 2 to see the difference !)

I agree with skitz. pc games and systems are higher quality than consoles. here is an article writen about this subject.

i think the author is siding with computers becuz of the amount of "good factors" he has posted.

I enjoy old consoles like atari, nintendo, along with my computer, so im good. :D :D

It never really hit me how far technology has developed with games untill i finished Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and got Wolfenstein 3D, i remember playing the shareware version for hours when i was younger, now after 5 mins i was ready to chuck the controller out the window.

My opion (I'm a nintendo fan..) GAMECUBE all the way.. or i should say N64 all the way.. one down pointer about it is i think more designed for children, to with the games. Yet gamecube still come out with the best graphics since more to the fact they have all ainmation games

I am a major PS2 fan but i will admit that the X-Box is a better console...

But don't forget the Gamecube and Xbox were released at least a year after the PS2 (if i remember correctly) and so technically are the next generation on.

You've summed it up perfectly.

Being a PS2 only owner myself, I'll admit the xBox is a better console, and as it is newer, and bloody ought to be better.

But in saying that, I love my PS2 and would not swap it for either of the 2 other systems. The playback of those PSX games is also important, as my original PSX packed it in..

Dont forget XBOB and PS2 arent the only console systems going 'live', GAMECUBE is also doing the same.
This is only available in america, but I'm positive it'll come out in Australia next year some time.

Anyway it's called a "broadband Adaptor" letting you play online through a dsl/cable internet connection. I've just brought a gamecube yesterday from eb (i traded in my gba sp with 2 games and all my n64 stuff).

All up i got Gamecube console (black) + 1 x purple controller + mem card 59 + enter the matrix + 007 nightfire + super smash bros melee.

I cant wait till i get 1080 avarlanche and mario kart double dash because those 2 games r online tooCheck it out here (http://www.warppipe.com).

I don't own any of these systems, but i was hoping to pick up either a PS2 or X - Box eventually. I like the idea of storing music n stuff on the X - Box and the graphics are good but one thing that shits me is the controller. Other from that i'd say X - Box is the better console considering the range of games, features & graphics.

the ONLY reason I'd get an xbox would b if my computer sux.. i mean thats all the xbox is really, since it's made by micrsoft its just like watching your computer on your tv, you might as well go and buy a tv card 4 your computer and graphics card. Xbox suc, y bother buying 1 if u have a good computer that needs a $200 up grade.. Xbox + at least 4 games + 3 cons + 2 mems = lots of cash that could be spent on a good computer + if u have 2 computers in your house get a wireless network card put in and update that comp and there u go

PS2 - Out dated games (majority) suk, + they just make games and dont care if they suk..

Xbox - As i said 'its like watching your computer on your tv

Gamecube - Cheap, no dvd player (u might as well buy 1 sep since if u had 1 (for ps2 only the mod chip would disabled the dvd playr) + Games r still pritty good coz they may not have very many compared to ^^^ those 2, cept a few r only crap not all of them

Computer - the best out of all of them!!

If you have a good TV with Surround sound etc. it could be a good experience and also you are able to transport the X - Box elsewhere much easier than computers (with the exception of laptops). Also the easy availibility of multiplayer gaming. So yer, they obviously both have their advantages, but lets say conolsewise i'd go for the X - Box.

There's no gun controller for the XBox apparently....

Although, I've heard that there's an adapter that will let you plug in a PS2 controller into an Xbox. Does anyone know if the gun controller ought to work like that?

That just leaves the software to follow.

Anyone know why there hasnt been a gun controller released?

Heck... they've come up with a microphone, surely they can produce a gun?

Please PM your response.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hmmm, well I took the game shop person's word for it before checking for myself. I've found three light guns forsale already, so obviously he wasnt aware of the full story...

Now, can anyone recommend a good shoot em up for xbox that is simply a point-shoot-really-fast type game?

Thanks,
Andrew
