Which next next generation console system do you own. The Playstation, Saturn and N64 were described as next generation consoles, so I suppose we are in the next next generations consoles.

I own a Gamecube and I am extremely happy with it. I am not going to spend any money on another console but if I was going to buy a 2nd console I would go for the XBOX.

Dreamcast isn't a 128 bit console. Next generation consoles just refers to the current console standard.

how many bit is the dreamcast then?? but it is the direct competition for this console war... the one against the playstation and n64 was the saturn

no the Saturn was against the SNES and then it failed and the DC was against the N64/PS. I'm not sure but I think DC is a 64bit system, also it isn't sold anymore it isn't made anymore, it's been redundant for a while, hence why it's inclusion in this comparison is silly. It'd be more interesting to find out who has "obsolete consoles" (the ones which have been surpassed) against other obsolete consoles. DC of course failed as well and SEGA didn't continue to create a new console.

sautrn against SNES>.. nope.

The Mega Drive was vs The S.NES

Such as the Master System was against the NES

The DC is included based on it being SEGAs console in this current war. The fact they no longer make it is the casualties of a console war.. or a total bail out by SEGA.

The dreamcast IS 128 bit. was the first colsole to hit this mark. Unfortunatly they didn't utilize the power too well.

Saturn was a sort of step-up from MegaDrive, it came in as direct competition against Super Nintendo boasting the ability to still play MD games. It never really took off and then PlayStation and N64 and DC hit the market, once again DC didn't take off so Sega quit making new consoles and PS2, GC and XBOX came out surpassing PS, N64 and DC.

The saturn was up against the Playstation and the N64. It just dropped out very early.

I didn't think the Saturn played Mega Drive Games.

Wasn't it the Mega CD (known as Sega CD in US), which was the step up, capable of playing MD carts aswell.

it is only being compared to the generation. the generation which includes the dc, ps2, xbobx, and gc. and it is only a poll.. there are many Sega fan boys still out there...

Because Nintendo rejected it so Sony made it into a stand-alone unit.

But the whole set up enable to play MD titles. I really do not remember a Saturn having MD capabilities....
But the Saturn was a big step up.. from 16 bit to 32 bit..

It did last a while, but because it was more than 5 years ago it seems like it faded away overnight like the 32x
