My insurance company (Allianz thru NAB) recently imposed a $1500 limit on any claims relating to DVD's, CD's, VHS Tapes and any other recorded media. The $1500 limit is not on each type but a total across all media.
I was wanting $10,000 on the DVD collection alone and they refused to insure it.
I am now looking for a new insurer and was hoping some other collectors could recommend a company.
Thanks in advance.

ooops I should say, you do not need to specify the DVDs until you have $20,000 worth.

Try in insurance broker that's registered with NIBA. (National Insurance Broker's Association)
NIBA have a site that gives all the whys and wherefores. (I think it's just niba.com.au.
But basically, I found a broker thru' the yellow pages and asked if they were NIBA members. Some brokers avoided the question, or tried to put me onto the manager!
The broker I ended up with had no problems answering this question, and still came up with a competitive quote that covered all of my needs!
