Fave 80's games

What were your fave Arcade games from the 80's(there are a few of us here that remember the 80's :o ). I remember when they used to be like ) $0.20 per game(maybe slightly more)- not like the ones of today where they are on average $2-4 per game :rolling:

Moon Patrol- Is that the one where you had to jump over creaters, as well as being able to shoot upwards(and possibly forwards)? That was pretty cool....another one I remember is that you had to build bridges with a helicopter.

Faves were Space Harrier, Discs Of Tron, and Arkanoid.

Galaga did quite well too!

my fav was prob Gauntlet (sp ???) the one where you could play with 4 people, wizard, elf, warrior and.. some chick one

it used to talk to ya and stuff like.. ELF needs FOOD badly. etc..

i remember they used to have those days where like for 3 hours you paid 5 bucks to get in and all the games were free. those was the days...

i also remember double dragon been quite cool also

and a terminator game that had two players with those gun things and you shoot the screen

I second Gauntlet, legendary game... loved those '... needs food BADLY' and '... shot the food' quotes.

Super Sprint, hours of fun.

Also spent hours on Double Dragon....

Space Invaders was also a great game, I think that slips into the previous decade though (a family friend used to be a video arcade techie back in the late '70s, free games!!!)

i think for me it would be galaga.I still love playing the game even today ,which i do every few days.

Donkey kong, Pac-man, Space Invaders, Double Dragon, 1945, Wonderboy, Golden Axe, there all coming back to me, pinball machines ;) TMNTurtles, and I also like that one that was in T2, I think it fighterplane one, where john was playing it and T1000 saw him on it, and chased him out of the arcade to the back ;)

I don't really recall going to an Arcade place in the 80's. I know we had a time zone, but my parents thought they were a drug hangout so they would never drive me, and being 10 yrs old or younger I wasn't gonna ride me bike

"When I was a kid":p, we didn't have "Arcades", they were known as Pinny Joints.
I remember our Pinny Joint getting a Space Invaders machine and all the big kids would hog it.
It didn't matter if we were there first and already had our 20 cent coins lined up on the screen. :D

l still prefer pinball machines myself.......but loved dig-dug and centipede...don`t know if there 80`s my memories not that good.....:D

I remember those days of arcade game "ettiquette"! I wonder if the same old rules still apply!!

With all the consoles around now, I'm surprised that any arcade parlours still exist! Sad, really.

Yeah we only have the one, near the local cinema. I do not recall many new games, but Daytona always gets my $2. Now that has to be one of the most succesful arcade machines ever

Matt, if you're into arcade emulation, be sure to buy an XBox and get it chipped.

Then you can play all the emulation classics on there with a multiplayer of up to 4 people!!! (Makes for awesome Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles nights :p)

Dragons Lair was good fun used to watch in awe as some one who new all the moves get through it.
i remember when the first "electroic" scoring pinballs came out late 70`s evil kenival,eight ball,supersonic etc.
the only thing i didn`t like about the newer pinball was the real high scores you needed for a replay and when it went from 5 balls a game to 3.
i was good at international track and field until owner kicked us out for using 10 cent piece to make the little guy run faster throw and jump further
